Join the Scene – Part Dos

And I’m back with Part Dos as promised! Need even more hot spots to impress your closest pals and make your enemies jealous? Check out these great places:

Revel With Some Rowdy Aussies at Bondi Beach: You’ve heard of the intense brunch racket New York City runs. This place is the stuff of legends. Snag a reservation with your pals at one of the four New York outposts and hold on tight. For two laughter-filled hours, unlimited brunch libations like Bloody Marys, Mimosas and of course, Fosters, are yours for free once you pick out your suitably rib-sticking breakfast. Even if you’re not much of a carnivore, I promise the Hamburger With the Lot is worth your once-a-year burger order. The packed restaurant offers some of the best weekend people watching and liveliest Aussie expats refilling beverages and listening to tales from the night before. Bondi Road (part of Moo Life Group’s NYC restaurants) | 153 Rivington Street (Lower East Side) | Get that reservation online early in the week at http://moolifegroup.com/

Dance the Night Away at the Blind Barber: While this dancing hot spot services a fully functioning barbershop as it’s outer façade during the day, the back room offers much more than a shave a haircut by night. The line moves quickly — once you’re inside you’ll be twirling to some of the city’s best DJs and enjoying handmade cocktails. Always buzzing with energy and friendly elbow grazing, this one is guaranteed to make your list of favorites. Stake out the back room for a spot on the leather sofas to watch the action. The Blind Barber | 330 East 10th Street (East Village) | Check out photos of the “hidden” entrance at http://blindbarber.com/

Gather With New Friends at a Fireplace Bar: Given the frigid winter temperatures, I’m inclined to include a suggestion that’s literally a hot spot. (Please, stop wincing at my clever pun and continue reading.) Curl up around some of the city’s best fireplace bars and order hot punch, mulled wine or spiked cider. Leather-bound tome optional. Time Out New York put its staff up to the tough task of vetting the City’s finest, like the Jimmy at the James hotel. So many smokin’ hot places to go! Which one will you try first?

About Katie

Katie left her native Denver after realizing she wasn’t much of a skier and is now an official New Yorker scribing away in advertising...which is similar to Mad Men but with fewer cigarettes and more Internet search. Fancies engaging in witty banter and seemingly useless trivia over a cocktail with her mercilessly charming friends. Always adding to her ever-expanding must-do list in the greatest city in the world.
