It’s no surprise that NYC is dubbed “the city that never sleeps” — no matter the season, time or day, there is always something going on in NYC. The only question is – are you a part of it? It can sometimes be overwhelming to stay on top of everything happening, so I’ve created a cheat sheet with some of the best events in NYC coming up this winter & spring (In Part 2!). Happy event-ing!
WINTER
Restaurant Week(s): all over Manhattan — Happening now through Feb 10th
I’m sure this is an event you are well-aware of by now, but just in case, don’t forget that several times a year, NYC participates in “Restaurant Week”(s). During this time, restaurants all over the city (including the hottest and trendiest locals) create special discounted menus to allow people to have a sample of their best food for a fraction of the cost. I bring this up because it is happening NOW! Hurry and make a reservation before Feb 10th! http://www.nycgo.com/restaurantweek
Fashion Week: Lincoln Center — Feb 9-16th 2012
I’m confident you’ve heard about these amazing weeks in NYC – once the 2nd week in Feb, and the next the 2nd week in September – but have you actually been to them? Nothing will demonstrate NYC’s energy more than stepping foot onto the steps of Lincoln Center and into this whirlwind of excitement. Dubbed “The Tents”, Lincoln Center’s pop-up center that hosts the runway shows boast attendance from the most fashionable people in NYC – think: Anna Wintour – to the most fashion obsessed. The sights and sounds alone from outside the door will keep you coming back for more each season.
Big Night Out: Ciprianis’ Downtown — March 10th, 2012
Each year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC hosts one of the most popular, fun charity events of the year called “Big Night Out”. This black tie, casino-themed night at Cipriani’s Downtown is attended by over a thousand people from 25-35, and often is known as the ‘who’s-who’ event of NYC. Whether you are just looking to support a good cause or hoping to meet a cute significant other with a heart, don’t miss out. Hurry – tickets sell out fast: http://ypcbignightout.weebly.com/
Now that I’ve hooked you up with some great ideas for the winter, stay tuned for some more great events taking place this Spring in New York!
